The purpose of the Club as stated in our constitution is:
"To facilitate camaraderie among all members of the club and by unity, promote and formulate plans for the relief of those that need assistance in attaining their charity goals, such as, but not limited to: Boy's State, National Emergency Relief Fund, Child Welfare Foundation, Special Olympics and other charities that will further The American Legion cause. Also to assist through active participation and/or mentoring to enhance the areas of membership, program participation and management/administration. "
As set forth by a vote of the membership, we have been donating to each of the programs listed above. However, you can see that this is not all we are supposed to be doing.
We are spread throughout the state and should be willing to assist any post commander, membership chairman, or any other chairman that needs assistance. In order for The American Legion to continue to be successful, the up and coming generation of officers and chairman need the benefit of our experience in building their posts and programs. I believe that the reason we aren't doing this is because no one knows that we're here and willing to do so. It's important that we publicize the PCC of Florida and let everyone know we're willing to mentor them. I would welcome ideas from any of you on how we can best accomplish this.
